Just Jess is a podcast, and now a growing creative project, born out of survival, resilience, and the stubborn belief that our most painful stories deserve to be heard out loud.
Hosted by Jess - a chronically ill, neurodivergent, tattooed, truth-telling mom, rapper, poet, and advocate - the show dives into the raw, unfiltered reality of living in a body that doesn’t play fair and a world that often expects silence. From chronic illness and bipolar disorder to trauma, addiction, parenting, and survival, nothing here is polished or pretend.
But Just Jess has grown into more than a podcast. Now based in Pittsburgh, Jess is expanding the project into music, storytelling, and community-building. Through rap, poetry, and conversations that refuse to stay quiet, she turns lived experience into something louder: truth you can feel in your chest.
We’re not here for perfectly curated lives or sugar-coated self-help. We’re here for the real stuff...the late-night panic attacks, the dark humor that keeps us breathing, the messy beauty of parenting through pain, and the power of refusing to disappear.
Each episode blends personal storytelling, poetry, education, and guest voices who are brave enough to talk about the things most people avoid, from childhood trauma to sex addiction, from bipolar disorder to cancer, from survival to rebuilding a life piece by piece.
But this has never just been Jess’s story.
It’s a space for the people who’ve been dismissed, misunderstood, underestimated, or labeled too much. The survivors. The truth-tellers. The ones who kept going anyway.
Whether you’re a fellow sick bitch, a seeker of honesty, or just someone trying to figure life out one messy day at a time...you belong here.
We’re building a community where honesty is healing, survival is sacred, and creativity is another way of staying alive.
And we do it with humor, softness, rage, joy, and just a little bit of glitter.
Welcome to Just Jess.
Welcome home.
